MARVELLOUS MAKEOVER

I am always searching for a model to transform. There is nothing like taking a blank canvass and painting on different hues till you achieve perfection.
Marvellous is such a blank canvass, I love her facial structure and the ease with which it can be transformed with few strokes of the brush.

Below I present the transition of marvellous, my student, intern and model.

E.L.C- CORRUPTION FREE LEADERSHIP

As a make-up artist , presenter and progressive Nigerian youth - INFORMATION is KEY. I do not take any opportunity to learn for granted. So when the Excellence in Leadership Conference came this year with the theme Corruption Free Leadership i decided i must attend and am happy i did.

Today is just the first day and i am overwhelmed by height the knowledge i downloaded. Am going to share some the point i was able to jot down.

From Fela Durotoye: in no particular order here are some points

  • stay on your field keep doing what you were created to do excellently and your field will link you up to all that you need materially and people you need to meet physically.
  • Your gift is taking you somewhere special, keep at it and you will get there.
  • Do not be selfish about pursuing your success alone because you can not succeed out of a failed state. Focus on building the people around and your community at large -  only then will you experience true success.
  • the value you command is tied to the vacuum your absence creates.
  • Your value increases according to your values.
FELA DUROTOYE

10 point:
  1. Make a positive impact on everyone you meet and everywhere you go.
  2. Be a solution provider not a part of the problem.
  3. Be a role model worthy of emulation.
  4. Be your best in all you do particularly what you are good at. To be great find what you are naturally good at and work hard at it. Talent - Personality - Passion
  5. Do the the right thing at all time regardless of whoever around you is doing wrong.
  6. Value time and make the best use of it.
  7. Care and show respect through your words and action.
  8. Consciously build a great legacy starting now, today and everyday.
  9. Live a life of integrity and honour.
  10. Make your family, your nation and your God proud.
That is not all,we later moved on to Oby Ezekwesili who opened my eyes to the value of the public sector ( civil service) and our need as a people to engage our leaders.
I really cant go into all that she said you need to buy the CD but i will just drop a few more point from her:
OBIAGELI EZEKWESILI

  • Public sector should mobilise growth in the private and citizenship sector through proper System, Structure and Institution.
  • Public sector needs to recruit based on strong Character, Competence and Capacity.
With this few point of mine, i hope i was able to convey how blessed i have been by this conference and i will update on all other classes as it unfolds.

4 NEW LIFE LESSONS

I have been working officially in a structured environment for about 6 month now, prior to that i have always run my own business. Over this period i have learnt some very strong life lesson that i thought i knew before and i just realised am far lower in the learning curve than i realised.
Not to bore you further with stories i will start off with the list.
MY LOOK TO CHURCH FEW WEEKS BACK
  • PATIENCE: I learnt and am still learning patience. It is a great virtue that I thought I had but i have realised that until your patience is tested and you survive successfully - then you can be boastful. I am a very spontaneous person, whenever I want to get things done -I want it done immediately. In an office environment there are processes you must not flout, levels of authority and hierarchy that you must obey. So patience is a must and am still learning it.
my look on YOUR VIEW for SALAH

  • HUMILITY: I have a personalty trait of being aloof, i keep to myself a lot and i only relax among close friends. A lot of people perceived this as pride. i have learnt that i may have been making excuses on my part so run away from a character flaw. I am now learning to be humble and patient, this means i don't get to have my way all the time but i winning back some grounds.
MY LOOK FOR CHRISTY'S WEDDING
  • QUIETNESS: So I believe that I am well informed and i have an opinion about everything, (ITK- I too know). Sometimes am right and other times am wrong but i always voice it out in such a way that some people have now developed a negative position on everything I say. I know it might be how I say it - like I have superior knowledge on everything. That is honestly not my intention but how can I prove myself, only close friends that know me and vouch for me. So I am learning the virtue of QUIETNESS, not voicing out all that come to my head. Now I think and re-think before talking.
MY BOYS HAVING FUN

  • RESPECT: Another character flaw that am facing up to and dealing with is - my ineffective/ inability to greet properly. In our culture (especially Yoruba's) respect is shown by greeting, so am working on greeting everyone both young and old much better. Also am learning to respect the constituted authorities and office hierarchy. Everyone job is important so they deserve to be respected.
CROSS SECTION OF MY OFFICE
It might be coming late but its better late than never. Each day brings me closer into becoming HIS (Jesus) perfect image and i thank God for the process.
MY FAMILY - MY TESTIMONY

Till my next post
XOXO

STORY SO FAR... YOUR VIEW on TVC

Over the course of the past 6 months i have transitioned from a freelance make-up artist into a television house make-up artist and even in this  last 4 months become a TV presenter.
on the set of your view

It has been a great journey and i give God all the glory, i can not take His grace for granted. The transition was not easy.
Just so you all know i have had no previous knowledge in broadcast neither have I ever presented any show before but i must ascribe all the glory to God and i have been favoured all the way.
100th episode of your view

I have been opportune to Co-host with 6 other ladies a show called "Your View". where women from all works of live, single, married, divorced, separated, young and old discuss anything and everything from politics, health, business to show biz.
on the set of your view with celebrity guest actor and producer KUNLE AFOLAYAN

This show has really blessed me. it has given me the opportunity to positively influence people, re-orientate women and give them a voice.
after the show

I have always been passionate about transformation and for over 6 years i have been transforming women on the outside via make-up. I have also been involved in counselling youths and women with the focus on helping them maximise their potential especially with regards to entrepreneurship through motivational speaking.  So being on television helps me to reach-out to more people.
my first time ever hosting the show

A lot of people have been asking why i no longer actively update my blog, so this medium is to inform you all of what i have been up to.
at the celebration of  our 100th episode (am in the afro)

LUCAN TRAVEL BOSS : Aunty Dami

Class and simplicity are the words to describe aunty Damilola. She is one of those that look good with or without make-up, blessed with a flawless skin - she hates looking cake with make-up.
Her instruction was in qoute " Tope - simple make-up, anything loud or shiny and i will clean up my face". So i complied and am happy she was pleased.
