The makeup masterclass today was wonderful, rather the right adjective to use is awesome.
You know when we makeup artist gather it is a festival of colors on our faces, in our clothes and accessories.
I went vampy with lise TWILIGHT lipstick (review coming soon).
kumbi of sit pretty went 70's with sleek new orange matte liquid lips (review on her BLOG)
love olaleye went with a pretty gold and green eyeshadow and peachy-orangey lips
Another advantage to this makeup artist events is the networking. below are a few people i loved meeting, my apologies if i don't mention you name.
I met the award winning Love Olaleye
love olaleye and I (ewabela) |
I met beautiful funmi of Abeke makeover
I met Chichi
I met David Sucre of MUD but i got no pictures to prove it, for haters and doubters dont worry david and i will hook up soon and i will take a picture to prove you all wrong
Now to the real affairs of the day, the master class proper.
The introductions were made by Titi Offor,
who looked very smart and set a soft but serious tone for the class. She pleaded with us to put aside our previous knowledge , open our minds to learn and ignore our friends when they try distracting us with chit-chat. She went on to introduce the brand manager Bukola,
who gave a brief but insightful information about maybelline.
A major fact i would like to share with you all is that Maybelline is the first ever makeup brand and they have been pacesetters ever since creating the first ever mascara and many more laudable inventions and improvement in the makeup industry.
Fast forward to the introduction of Bimpe Onakoya who is the creative director of Maybelline Nigeria.
Here are a two information she gave that i would like to share with you:
- People shouldn't see the process of highlights and contour, it shouldn't be obvious rather let the effect of all the highlights and contour be seen in the subtle improvement of facial structure, less is more.
- Stop copying people because you will always remain behind whoever you copy. Set trend by being creative.
Time for practicals, with Yemisi of N'sure as the model for the day we kick started with basic founfation application,
clean face about to be worked on |
Next it was time for lunch; hmmmm.
The meal was so distracting and beautifully laid out that i forgot to take any pictures of the buffet. i am sure you will see those pictures from Misykona (click here)

The meal was delicious and i had to control myself from falling deeply into the sin of gluttony.
well! what more can i say.
Special thank you to MAYBELLINE, Bimpe Onakoya and they entire maybelline Nigeria crew for a great day.
Now enjoy more pictures.
and that is all for today,
You know i love you all.
